Christine Aguilar, MD, MPH
Christine Aguilar, MD, MPH., joined the Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Institute in September of 2007 as Faculty Associate in the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Aguilar received her medical degree in 1980 from the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon, Facultad de Medicina in Monterrey, N.L. Mexico. In 1986 she joined The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio to work on clinical trials, in 1986 she received her Masters of Public Health from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston – School of Public Health
(San Antonio Campus). Dr. Aguilar has been in the University system
for the 25 years.
Dr. Aguilar has training in epidemiology and has 20 years of experience in clinical research and protocol development. Her past clinical research at UT Health Science Center has been in the elderly, hypertension, hearing loss, nursing homes, and diabetes. Dr. Aguilar also has been involved in systematic reviews and meta-analysis.
Her current role at the Greehey CCRI involves the overall management of the Epidemiology of Childhood Cancer study (HSC2008057H).
Dr. Aguilar brings to the Greehey CCRI to the department of Pediatrics her expertise in how basic science bridges with clinical research in the collection, annotation and utilization of biologic samples and epidemiologic data.
