Dr. Don McEwen, Principal Investigator, Assistant professor of Biochemistry

Principal Investigator, Assistant Professor of Biochemistry

T 210.562.9064

Donald G. McEwen, Ph.D., will join the Children’s Cancer Research Institute in February of 2005 with major faculty responsibilities as a Principal Investigator in Molecular Oncogenesis and Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry. Dr. McEwen received his doctoral degree from Washington University and completed his post-doctoral fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. His post-doctoral work in the laboratory of Dr. Mark Peifer has been supported by a fellowship from the University of North Carolina Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and by a National Research Service Award from NIGMS, NIH.

Dr. McEwen is a developmental biologist who is taking a genetic and biochemical approach to the analysis of signaling pathways involved in development, differentiation, and cancer. He is utilizing Drosophila as a powerful model system to study the effects of WNT and JNK signaling pathways.
